Where to Keep Cool in Magic Kingdom!

Although Disney World is known as “the happiest place on earth” we all know it can also be absolutely draining. Struggling to get through all of the crowds without losing anyone in your party, hangry children and adults, and frankly people just being inconsiderate of others around them can quickly put a damper on any vacation, no mater how much planning went into it. Let’s talk about a few places in Magic Kingdom Park where you can go to take a break from the heat, keep cool, and refresh so you can keep having the vacation of your dreams!

Magic Kingdom Park is 107 acres of pure happiness but can quickly become overcrowded and guests may be turned away when it reaches capacity. There are a few places we like to go to take a break when it gets really busy or to escape the heat and humidity, even if it is just for a few minutes.

Carousel of Progress

Our absolute favorite attraction to ride when it gets really hot in this park is the Carousel of Progress in Tomorrowland. Walt Disney first designed this attraction for the 1964 World’s Fair in New York. In this classic attraction we follow John and his family through 100 years of innovations and technologies. The show lasts 21 minutes and the wait to ride is usually minimal as the theater continually rotates to let guests on and off. It is just enough time to rest your weary feet, cool down a bit, and take in a great show!

Right across from the Carousel of Progress is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. This 10 minute ride high above Tomorrowland has continually moving vehicles that take your party on a breezy and informative tour of this fun land. The views at night are spectacular and we love taking a trip around especially during the fireworks! Watch our nighttime PeopleMover video here!

Enchanted Tiki Room

Located in Adventureland, the Tiki Room is another classic Disney attraction and is often overlooked by many guests visiting the park. Lasting 10 minutes this fun-filled sing along is a great attraction for kids and adults alike to take a quick break from the heat. It has lots of colorful birds singing cute songs and telling funny jokes all for your entertainment, although you may have tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room song stuck in your head all day long!
