Making Memories in Disney World
Everyone who knows me knows how much I love going on vacation to Disney World. I talk about it all the time to anyone willing to listen! It is my happy place and when I’m there I forget about all of the stress in my life.
People ask me, what is your favorite part of a Disney vacation? For me that is always a really hard question to answer. While actually going to Disney World and making great family memories is, of course, so much fun I really love all of the prep that goes into preparing for a trip. I love researching hotels and restaurants for our family to enjoy. Watching YouTube videos of rides and attractions gets us so excited for every trip. Making sure that we pack everything we will need and that it fits perfectly in our suitcases is like therapy for me.
When we finally arrive at our hotel, we collectively feel a sense of being “home.” We’ve stayed at many different Disney resorts over the years but last year we saved up enough to stay at our dream resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. We’ve visited this resort on every trip for dinner at the ‘Ohana restaurant but staying here was like a dream come true.
We love everything about Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort! The pool is so much fun, the restaurants are wonderful, and it has Dole Whip! I absolutely love the fact that we can ride the monorail to Magic Kingdom or Epcot any time of day. Being able to watch the Electrical Water Pageant or the fireworks from “Happily Ever After” right from the deck of the pool with champagne in hand is my personal idea of paradise.
Another reason I love a Disney World vacation is because of all of the memories we make as a family. I love seeing my little girl’s face light up when she meets the princesses! Watching her talk to Disney’s first Latina princess, Elena of Avalor, who looks just like my daughter was something I’ll never forget.
Watching Kylo Ren trying to intimidate my kids was absolutely hilarious, as you can see my little girl was not afraid of him one bit!
It’s not just meeting the characters and princesses that we love. The cast members in Disney World are special too. Last year we were in the lobby of the Polynesian village Resort, otherwise known as the Great Ceremonial House, when a cast member approached us and started talking to us. We thought he wanted to talk to us about the Vacation Club, but no he chose us to be the ‘Ohana of the Day! Before we knew it everyone in the lobby was welcoming us and we were escorted outside to be part of the torch lighting ceremony! It was an experience that was totally unexpected and absolutely amazing. It is something we will never forget.
Those are just a few reasons I love Disney World. I could go on and on but alas, I have a Disney trip to plan! So here is to making more memories, having endless family fun, and enjoying Dole Whips on the beach at sunset. May all of your Disney dreams come true, I’ll meet you at the pool to watch Happily Ever After! I’ll bring the champagne!
