Do you think you need a huge backpack to survive a day at a Disney park? Think again! There are some essential items that I pack and bring to the Disney parks. Here is a list of items to bring in a fanny pack for a day at a Disney park!
The Fanny Pack!
First, the fanny pack. Meet “Celeste” – my fanny pack! Yes, I gave my fanny pack a name! She has been my go-to fanny pack for so many Walt Disney World trips I have lost count! She looks small but she can hold so much stuff! I pack the essentials in my fanny pack, things that I may not be able to find easily at the parks.
Wet Wipes, I believe, are an essential item everyone should carry with them at a Disney park. You can use them to clean off your hands before and after you eat as well as cleaning off a dirty table or seat. Or your hands are sticky after eating a delicious snack. They have so many uses, we have never regretted bringing them! We usually pick up a few small travel-size packs of wipes at the dollar store before our trip! Make sure to put them in a quart size Ziploc bag to prevent leaking!
I like to carry a small soft zipper wallet with me, like the one above, when I spend the day at a Disney park. I carry our ID’s, credit cards, and a few dollars just in case of emergency!
Pennies and Quarters
We love to collect pressed pennies from various locations around the Disney parks. You may have heard people suggesting storing them in M&M tubes but I like to carry ours in Ziploc snack size bag. It takes up less space in my fanny pack and makes going through security quicker since they can see what is inside!
Before our vacation I make a trip to the pharmacy and pick up chewable medicines, including Children’s Tylenol and Gas-X. We also pack a forehead thermometer, moleskin, and band-aids. I keep them in a small snack size Ziploc bag. You have to be prepared at all times, specially when travelling with little ones!
Glasses and Contacts
Those of us who wear glasses and are not full-time contact lens wearers know that you should always carry an extra set of “eyes” with you. I never venture out without my glasses. I start my day with contact lenses and I usually need to switch to glasses around dinner time! I also bring a small container of re-wetting drops for contacts and eyeglass lens wipes. I store them in a snack size Ziploc bag.
It is so important to protect your eyes from the sun and what better way then a stylish pair of sunglasses! Sunglasses are one of the most lost items in Disney World. I recommend a pair of folding sunglasses like the one pictured above from Ray Ban! It is so easy to just fold them up and put them away in my fanny pack!
It is very important to make sure you are always reapplying sunscreen while at the parks! Keeping a small travel size sunscreen in my fanny pack takes up very little space and makes reapplying sunscreen a breeze!
It is common knowledge it rains in Florida often, especially in the summer! Right around 3:00 P.M. you can usually count on passing rain! Make sure you aren’t caught unprepared and pack a poncho. You will see everyone scurrying around the parks, looking for a place that sells ponchos, but you will be prepared with yours!
You might think, “How in the world am I suppose to fit a baseball hat in my fanny pack?” Good question! I don’t exactly put my baseball hat in my fanny pack, but I do put it through the strap around my waist! I don’t even know it is there, but have been so thankful that I brought it when the sun gets really strong or if it rains!
Extra Ziploc Bags
I like to put a few extra Ziploc bags of various sizes in my fanny pack. I have used them to keep receipts dry, hold extra snacks, and even store unexpected souvenirs we’ve picked up like these light up ice cube from the Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen pictured above!
There you have it! That’s everything I pack in my fanny pack for a day at a Disney park! Do you take a fanny pack with you to the parks? If so, tell us what you pack in yours!
